Forget-Bélanger Innovation Support Scholarship
Funding provided: $7 000
Supporting Innovation in Rehabilitation
The Forget-Bélanger Innovation Support Scholarship, established in 2025 by the Scientific Directorate of the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Rehabilitation of Greater Montreal (CRIR), in collaboration with Robert Forget, Céline Bélanger, Fondation RÉA and the Nazareth and Louis-Braille Institute Foundation, aims to foster innovative projects that contribute to improving rehabilitation and adaptation practices.
Valued at $6,000, the scholarship supports emerging researchers and encourages the development of new knowledge and innovative solutions that can make a meaningful difference in the lives of people receiving services in rehabilitation facilities supported by the two foundations.
A First Project Making a Difference
The scholarship’s first recipient, Geneviève Lamoureux, chose to address an issue of representation: raising awareness about stuttering and promoting more accurate and authentic portrayals of people who stutter in the media.
Her project provides free resources for journalists, screenwriters, directors and media professionals. It includes five video capsules, a best-practices guide, and checklists tailored to different roles within the media industry.
A concrete initiative that helps shift perceptions and foster more inclusive representation.
Every donation helps bring bold ideas to life and transform practices for the benefit of people receiving rehabilitation services.
