The REA Foundation joins the M.A.D. Festival!

On August 22, we had the pleasure of participating in the M.A.D. Festival for the very first time, in the heart of downtown Montreal. It was a milestone for the REA Foundation, celebrating fashion, creativity, inclusion, and diversity.

Through a capsule fashion show presented on the Place des Festivals stage, we wanted to highlight the beauty of our models’ journeys, the strength of their identities, and the richness of diversity.

When fashion becomes a space for representation

Because fashion belongs to everyone and every journey deserves to be seen, our participation in the M.A.D. Festival was an important opportunity for us to champion a message of inclusion and diversity.

Through this fashion show, we wanted to showcase a vision of fashion where everyone’s differences, personalities, and journeys have a place. By taking part in an event that celebrates creativity and boldness, we also hoped to help foster more inclusive representation in cultural events.

A collaboration made possible by many talents

This first participation would not have been possible without the commitment of everyone who contributed to bringing this project to life.

First and foremost, we would like to warmly thank the M.A.D. Festival team for welcoming us and for the wonderful experience of being part of its programming. A special thank you to Chantal Durivage, Vice President of Creative Development and Co-Founder of the M.A.D. Festival, for giving us this wonderful opportunity.

A huge thank you to our models, who brought this project to life with energy and authenticity:

Camille Chai

Charlie Rousseau

Michèle Forget

We would also like to thank the designers who dressed our models and helped bring the fashion show to life:

Maison Marie Saint Pierre

Collège LaSalle

Kimilala

Eliza Faulkner

A huge thank you to the makeup and hairstyling teams who helped our models look their best, as well as to Lawrence Fafard, the fashion show’s artistic director and stylist, and his styling assistant, Kimilala.

A special thank you as well to our Treasurer, Oliver Perilla, for his involvement in this project!

We would also like to thank our generous sponsor, Soul of London, as well as Félix & Norton for their delicious cookies and Fruiterie Anka for providing the fruit.

A First Step Toward New Possibilities

This first participation in the M.A.D. Festival will remain an important moment for the RÉA Foundation. Beyond the fashion show itself, this experience gave us an opportunity to celebrate diversity, individual journeys, and the strength of coming together, while creating space for more inclusive representation in the world of fashion.

We are proud to have been part of this year’s festival and grateful to everyone who contributed, in one way or another, to bringing this project to life.

This first participation marks an important milestone for the RÉA Foundation and, we hope, the beginning of new collaborations that will help make fashion even more inclusive.

Les Blue Knights XIII de Laval donate $1,050 to the REA Foundation!

On Friday, July 24, the REA Foundation had the pleasure of welcoming members of the Blue Knights XIII de Laval to the Institut Gingras-Lindsay-de-Montréal (IRGLM) to recognize their generous $1,050 donation.

The visit provided an opportunity to share a warm and meaningful moment with the members of this motorcycle club while enjoying refreshments generously provided by our partner, Tim Hortons. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team for helping make this gathering even more enjoyable!

A Moment of Solidarity and Resilience

The Blue Knights XIII de Laval were joined by Michèle Forget, a former patient of the Institut Gingras-Lindsay-de-Montréal (IRGLM), who underwent an extensive rehabilitation journey following a motorcycle accident. After several weeks of treatment and rehabilitation, Michèle continues to move forward with resilience and now shares her story to inspire others facing similar challenges.

The Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club is a non-profit organization made up of active and retired law enforcement officers who are dedicated to supporting communities through a variety of charitable and community initiatives.

Thanks to the support of dedicated donors and partners, the REA Foundation helps enhance the quality of care, supports innovative rehabilitation projects, and promotes the well-being of individuals receiving services through its affiliated healthcare institutions.

A heartfelt thank you to the Blue Knights XIII de Laval for their generosity and commitment to our community!

Kindergarten Graduation at Raymond-Dewar!

The Raymond-Dewar Physical Rehabilitation Centre recently hosted a wonderful kindergarten graduation ceremony for its young graduates. A simple yet meaningful moment celebrating the journey and progress of the children supported by Raymond-Dewar, who live with hearing or communication challenges. In a warm and caring atmosphere, each child received their diploma.

A small symbolic gesture, but one filled with pride for the children, their families, and the professionals who support them every day. One of the highlights of the morning was the commemorative photo: the children joined the professionals, all wearing their graduation caps and proudly holding their diplomas. Together, they shared a simple moment filled with smiles, pride, and connection.

A joyful and inclusive celebration for everyone

The deaf and signing clown Pafolie made the day even more special with her visual and accessible humour. She brought laughter to the children and created wonderful moments of joy for everyone. Families also had the opportunity to connect with the professionals, strengthening the bond between the teams and the children’s loved ones.

After the diploma ceremony, the organizers provided snacks, including cookies generously donated by Félix & Norton, adding a delicious touch to the celebration.

The children also received books donated by the children’s publisher Éditions Les Malins, allowing them to extend the joy of this special day at home. We sincerely thank these partners for their generous contributions.

A wonderful event supported by REA Foundation

This wonderful celebration was made possible thanks to the support of REA Foundation. The Foundation helps improve the daily lives of patients across its three rehabilitation centres, including Raymond-Dewar, by funding activities, equipment, and projects that make these moments even more meaningful and memorable.

The 21K Nespresso de Montréal 2026: an inspiring mobilization!

On April 18 and 19, 2026, 84 runners came together to raise funds in support of the Fondation REA during the 21k Nespresso de Montréal charity challenge. This solidarity walk and run event is designed to be accessible to all fitness levels and adapted for people with reduced mobility.

This year, thanks to the determination of our participants, donors, and everyone involved, we raised $22,479.

A very encouraging result that reflects the strength of our collective effort.

What will these donations be used for?

The funds are allocated to the Beneficiary Assistance Fund. This program helps respond quickly to the urgent needs of individuals facing financial hardship.

As a result, more than 200 users will benefit from this essential support. In addition, it improves their access to services and enhances their quality of life.

Finally, we warmly thank all runners, donors, and participants of the 21K of Montréal. Thanks to your commitment, this fundraising campaign was a true success 💜

MYKEY Fashion Show x RÉA Foundation

On April 18, 2026, MYKEY Fashion presented its second fashion show at the Théâtre Cartier in Montreal, in collaboration with the RÉA Foundation.

The event brought together Canadian and international creators around creativity, new talent, and emerging trends.

This year, the RÉA Foundation partnered with MYKEY Fashion to highlight rehabilitation and promote a more inclusive fashion that represents all realities.

An evening marked by inclusivity and representation

In an atmosphere filled with emotion and kindness, professional models with disabilities walked alongside other models, authentically embodying the values of inclusion and humanity dear to the RÉA Foundation.

Among them, the host, speaker, actress and athlete Camille Chai, born with a congenital malformation, lit up the stage with confidence and grace that deeply moved the audience. She reminded everyone that fashion can be a space where every story deserves to be seen and celebrated.

Professional model Éric Trahan, who is deaf, also captivated the audience. His natural elegance and calm presence showed that beauty fully reveals itself when everyone is allowed to exist without barriers or judgment.

Strong mobilization around the cause

The benefit event brought together more than 500 guests, highlighting the importance of the connection between fashion and community.

The evening was also marked by the presence of personalities such as Shawn Burnett, silver medalist at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Paralympic Games and former world para ice hockey champion.

Committed voices

For Isabelle Sicard, Executive Director of the RÉA Foundation, this collaboration represents a meaningful step: “It was a way to stand out and at the same time promote our mission of rehabilitation. It was a great opportunity to highlight social inclusivity in fashion.”

For her part, model Camille Chai shared a powerful message about the meaning of fashion in her journey:

“It is something where we can express ourselves, where we wear our identity, which must be shown just like differences. Fashion, for me, is a way of expressing oneself. I want to show people that they should not be afraid to show themselves as they are.”

A fashion focused on the future

With this second edition, MYKEY Fashion confirms its desire to create spaces where fashion becomes a vector of inclusion, representation, and social change, in collaboration with committed partners such as the RÉA Foundation.

The inclusion of people with disabilities is not only possible, but deeply desirable.

The inclusion of people with disabilities is not only possible, but deeply desirable

All donations collected during this event will be fully transferred to the Beneficiary Support Fund of the RÉA Foundation. This service directly supports people with disabilities facing financial difficulties. Thanks to these donations, they can receive financial assistance to meet essential needs and give themselves the means to move forward, with dignity and hope, toward greater independence.

The RÉA Foundation thanks its valued partners who supported this ambitious project and the cause of rehabilitation: BCF Avocats d’affaires, BFL Canada services de risques et assurances, Fiera Immobilier and Transport Bourassa.

Thank you to those who make all of this possible

The RÉA Foundation would like to warmly thank all donors, partners, volunteers, and participants who contributed to the success of this evening. Your support and trust make a real difference in the lives of people undergoing rehabilitation. Thanks to you, we can continue to support meaningful projects and accompany even more individuals on their journey.

2026 Recognition Evening

An Evening to Celebrate Generosity

On February 5, the Fondation RÉA held the second edition of its Recognition Evening in the elegant setting of the 36th-floor hall of the BNC Tower. This special occasion provided an opportunity to celebrate the commitment and generosity of our community.

The evening was hosted by our master of ceremonies, Camille Chai, a former athlete and person living with a disability, who was also a former user of the services at the Clinique Parent Plus at the Centre de réadaptation Lucie-Bruneau.

Honouring Those Who Make a Difference

The evening was an opportunity to recognize donors, partners, volunteers, and collaborators who actively support physical rehabilitation.

We also celebrated people of exceptional dedication, healthcare professionals and staff at our facilities, who, through their commitment, generosity, and humanity, make a real difference in the rehabilitation journey. These remarkable individuals are often nominated by donors, including grateful patients and families.

The Tangible Impact of Donations

For the final day of our sale, we visited the Centre de réadaptation Raymond-Dewar to share a reading moment with our patients living with hearing impairments or communication disorders, as well as with the healthcare professionals who support them every day.

The event highlighted the real impact that donations have on the lives of our users, whether through support for clinical projects, research, or direct assistance to beneficiaries. In a warm and inspiring atmosphere, Fondation RÉA emphasized that every contribution helps improve the quality of life and the rehabilitation journey of many individuals.

Scholarships That Transform Lives

The evening began with the RÉA Scholarship Ceremony, an inspiring moment highlighted by heartfelt testimonies. The scholarship recipients, including Kim Plourde, currently attending the École du Barreau, shared the tangible impact that the Foundation’s support has had on their studies and personal engagement. These stories show how every contribution can transform lives and support the rehabilitation journey of many individuals.

Thank You to Those Who Make It All Possible

Fondation RÉA warmly thanks all donors, partners, volunteers, and participants who contributed to the success of this evening. Your support and trust make a real difference in the lives of people undergoing rehabilitation. Thanks to you, we can continue to support meaningful projects and reach even more individuals on their path to recovery.

Recap of the Success of Our Charity Book Sale

On October 21 and 22, the REA Foundation held its very first book sale to support rehabilitation! Patients and health professionals at our centers were able to enjoy a selection of brand-new books, ranging from children’s literature to novels for ages 14 and up, all at affordable prices.

The launch took place at the Institut de réadaptation Gingras-Lindsay-de-Montréal on the first day, which was a great success, combining reading and solidarity.

Readers of all ages came together for our second day of the book sale…

For the final day of our sale, we visited the Centre de réadaptation Raymond-Dewar to share a reading moment with our patients living with hearing impairments or communication disorders, as well as with the healthcare professionals who support them every day.

A huge thank you to everyone who came to see us!

Thanks to your generosity, all donations were directed to our Beneficiary Assistance Fund, which provides financial support to our patients with disabilities who face limited resources.

We also warmly thank the Quebec-based children’s publisher Les Éditions Les Malins for their generous contribution!

Spirit of Solidarity at the 2025 21K de Montréal

beneva_Fondation RÉA

On April 26, 2025, a record number of 94 runners came together to raise funds for the REA Foundation as part of the Charity Challenge at the 21K de Montréal. This inclusive walking and running event welcomes thousands of participants and is designed to be accessible to all fitness levels, including people with reduced mobility.

This year, thanks to the determination of our participants, the generosity of our donors, and the involvement of everyone involved, we surpassed our initial goal of $25,000. In total, we reached a record amount of $31,345, the highest ever raised by REA during the 21K de Montréal.

Where will the donations go?

All funds will go directly to our Beneficiary Assistance Fund. This service provides support for individuals facing urgent needs and limited financial resources.

Great news: Increased support per request!

Because we exceeded our initial goal of $25,000, the REA Foundation has decided to increase the amount granted per request through the Beneficiary Assistance Fund.
The amount will now rise from $100 to $125 per person. This change will allow us to help more people, more effectively.

We sincerely thank everyone who made this fundraising effort such a success: our runners, our donors, and the participants and organizers of the Zumba fundraising activities. Without you, this service improvement would not have been possible

The team at our centers is moving for the cause!

zumba_réa

A few weeks ago, the team at our three centers came together in support of the REA Foundation.

In total, more than thirty people took part in two Zumba classes, led by the flamboyant Victor Flores.

Combining well-being and solidarity, all the funds raised were donated to our fundraising pool as part of the Montreal 21K Charity Challenge. These donations directly support our Beneficiary Assistance Fund, an essential program aimed to respond to the immediate needs of users with limited financial resources.

A total of $530 was raised for the Foundation through these two events.

The Foundation warmly thanks all the participants, as well as Victor Flores, who generously volunteered his time and handed over all the funds raised to the Foundation!
